FROM THE DESK OF MS. HAUGEN
Happy 26th week of classes!
We had such a fun (and chilly) day on Saturday introducing our middle school future Trojans to our band program. A huge thanks to all the band parents who helped make the day a success and to the students who volunteered their time! You are making an impact on the future of this program and I really appreciate it! Make sure to bring by your community service form so I can sign off on your hours.
We will be sending out summer dates this week so you can begin to prepare for next year. As I reminded all of the students in class last week, this year of “band” was like no other and we can’t wait to get back to the regular swing of things next year. This includes band camp, football games, marching shows, bus trips, and so much more. If you’re on the fence about choosing band as your elective next year, I’d love for you to give a regular season a try! You won’t regret it!!
As we continue on this semester, I wanted to give some options for additional practice time both for individuals, ensembles or to practice with your accompanist. Please let me know if you will need a different time! The band room is also open during A Lunch on Gold days and B Lunch of Green days for practice. Additionally, I will be holding office hours after school on those optional rehearsal days via Zoom as well if any DA students need help or want feedback on their music. You can send me an email to make an appointment: Haugenh@leonschools.net
Solo and Ensemble Registration
All students who did not perform in the February Solo and Ensemble event are registered for the April 23rd-24th event. If your student plays a woodwind or brass instrument and is performing a solo, they will need to contact an accompanist to record with. If you need any more information, please see attachment for accompanist details. If you need to select a specific day, please let me know this week so I can add that to your registration.
Johnson Meat Fundraiser
Attached is the Johnston’s Meats fundraiser order form. These smoked meats are very popular and great for family gatherings. We have timed delivery for the week before Easter! Order forms and payment are due on Wednesday, March 24, and item pickup will be Wednesday, March 31 at LHS.
- All payments should be checks made payable to Lincoln High School. If possible, please have your customers pay you and submit your form with one check. Always include a phone number and student name on your check.
- Order forms and payment can be dropped in the black box outside Ms. Haugen’s office or mailed to Lincoln Trojan Band, PO Box 16163, Tallahassee, FL 32317.
- Cost for each item is $30, and $10 will go to your individual student account.
- All items must be picked up on March 31 by the student or parent. We don’t have a way to store them after the pickup date.
If you have questions about any fundraiser, please contact Natalie Zierden at Natalie.Betz-Zierden@
