BAND CAMP

A core component of the Lincoln Trojan Band program is the Trojan Marching Band.  The foundation of the Trojan Marching Band is built during the summer at band camp.  Comprised of a series of practices that teach the fundamental skills required to perform in a marching band, band camp teaches how to march, set drill and coordinates, and learn show music while encouraging students to build a strong rapport with fellow Trojan Band members. Attendance and participation at band camp is required.  Each day of band camp includes crucial instruction and learning that is built upon throughout the marching band season. It is a time of intense study of the music and learning drill before the demands of the academic school year begin.  Trojan Band families are asked to make an effort to plan family summer activities around the band camp schedule as much as possible.

Trojan Marching Band Camp is generally held the two weeks before school starts. There is also an additional week of preliminary camp for leadership, new marching band members, color guard, and drumline. Dates for band camp are set the previous spring in order to give Trojan Band families as much advance notice as possible for summer planning purposes.  There may also be sectionals held throughout the summer by band leadership, depending on your instrument.
